Clinton County Health District Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) director Renee Quallen is pictured sorting through books for children that were recently donated to the WIC program by the Friends of the Wilmington Public Library (FOL).

Quallen said that the books will be available to enrolled WIC families while they are at the local health department and may also be donated for children and parents to read at home.

WIC provides support and education for pregnant and breastfeeding women; new mothers; and infants, and children up to 5 years of age. FOL is a volunteer group that collects, stocks and rotates books that are available at the library for a donation.

While some news organizations opt for paid websites or costly paywalls, The Highland County Press has maintained a free newspaper and website for the last 25 years for our community. If you would like to contribute to this service, it would be greatly appreciated. Donations may be made to: The Highland County Press, P.O. Box 849, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
