The Highland County Dog Pound has the following dogs available for adoption or rescue pulls as of Feb. 24, listed courtesy of the Friends of the Highland County Dog Pound.

Transport date is Feb. 26.

(1) Dipstick: He’s a very active, super energetic pup who would absolutely thrive in a home where he can run, play, and burn off his zoomies every day. He is 2 years old weighing 55 lbs. Dipstick is not just all energy, though —he’s incredibly sweet, affectionate and loves his people. If you’re looking for a fun, active companion, Dipstick is ready to keep up.

(2) Angel: Angel is a 5-6 year old, 38 lb. beagle mix who lost her person when her owner passed away. Now, she’s patiently waiting for a new forever home where she can feel safe and loved again. She’s incredibly sweet, affectionate, and would do well in most home environments. We’re unsure how she is with kids, so slow introductions would be best. Angel is ready to love again—she just needs someone to choose her.

(3) Eve: Eve is a boxer mix who loves with her whole heart. She’s a 4-year-old sweetheart who is playful, joyful, and happiest when she’s with her people. With an active family and older kids, Eve would truly shine. Give Eve the home she’s been waiting for, and she’ll fill it with love.

(4) Redgy: Redgy is a 2-year-old, 60 lb. pit bull with a big heart and a gentle spirit. He’s great with kids, dogs, and even cats, making him the perfect addition to a family looking for a friendly, adaptable pup. He may get the occasional zoomies, but mostly he’s all about cuddles, walks, and love. Give Redgy his forever home and he’ll give you endless affection in return.

(5) Sadie: This beautiful girl is Sadie, an 8-year-old Lab/Boxer mix with a heart as big as her smile. Sadie is spayed, incredibly sweet and truly friendly with everyone she meets—people and other dogs included. Sadie loves companionship, gentle affection, and being near her people. She’s the kind of dog who will happily be your shadow and soak up all the love you’re willing to give. While she’s great with dogs, she’d do best in a cat-free home, as kitties just aren’t her thing. If you’re looking for a calm, loyal, and affectionate companion, Sadie is ready to spend her golden years being your best friend. Message us to meet Sadie and learn more about giving this sweetheart the loving home she deserves. Comment from the dog warden: we took Sadie to an adoption event this weekend. Her best friend was adopted which left her alone. Sadie is nothing short of the best dog you will find. She is personally my favorite.

(6) Wild Willy: This handsome goofball is Wild Willy. At 4–5 years old, he is neutered and he weighs around 60 lbs. This boxer mix is sweet, playful, and full of personality. He loves human company and will happily keep you entertained with his antics. Willy is looking for a kid-free home where he can relax, feel comfortable, and be his best self. Adopt Wild Willy—life’s better with laughter.

(7) Cupid: This handsome guy is Cupid, and yes — he lives up to his name. He’s a sweet, playful 5–6 year old pit mix who loves spending time with people and soaking up attention. Cupid doesn’t ask for much… just love, companionship, and a chance. Adopt Cupid and let him love you back tenfold.

(8) Red: Red has packed his bags too many times. In just three months, he’s been in two homes—and now he’s tired. He’s a sweet husky who’s ready to slow down, settle in, and finally belong. He weighs 45-50 lbs. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and a forever commitment, Red is waiting.

(9) Boss: Boss is a 3-year-old mixed-breed hound with a heart of gold and the sweetest personality. He’s neutered, affectionate, and loves attention—especially from people who are ready to spend time with him. Boss does have some energy and would thrive with an active owner who enjoys walks, playtime, and keeping him engaged. True to his hound roots, he’s curious, fun-loving, and always ready for his next adventure. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who will happily join you on an active lifestyle, Boss is ready to find his forever home and be your new best friend.

(9) Daisy: This sweet girl is a 9-week-old Great Pyrenees mix with a big heart and an even bigger future. Daisy is playful, curious, and full of puppy excitement, always ready to explore the world and make new friends. She’s expected to grow into a beautiful 50–80 lb. pup, perfect for someone looking for a loyal companion to grow up with. Daisy is eager to learn, loves attention, and is so ready to trade kennel life for a cozy home and a family to call her own. If you’re looking for a loving, fun-loving puppy to add joy (and a few puppy antics) to your life, Daisy is ready to meet you.

(10) Blossom: She’s a 3-year-old mixed breed with a big heart and lots of energy to share. Blossom is playful, happy, and would thrive with an active family who loves walks, adventures, and playtime. Once she gets her zoomies out, she’s all sweetness and love. If you’re looking for a fun, loyal companion—Blossom might be your girl.

(11) Chet: Say hello to Chet, our 1-2 year old Lab/Cane Corso mix—but don’t let the mix fool you, because the Cane Corso doesn’t show at all. He looks and acts like a pure Lab puppy through and through. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, loyal companion who will keep you smiling year-round, Chet is your guy. Message us to meet him and learn more about adopting this handsome goofball.

(12) Jasper: Jasper is a 3-4 year old lab/pit mix with a heart full of love. Jasper is sweet, playful, and happiest when he’s spending time with people. He’s ready for his forever home—one with toys, love, and a family to call his own. Could Jasper be your missing piece?

(13) Daisey: Daisey is a beautiful 2-year-old Terrier Mix weighing about 45 pounds. With her sleek black coat and soulful eyes, she’s as lovely on the outside as she is gentle on the inside. Daisey is a shy girl who can be a little scared around new people at first. She just needs a patient, understanding home that will give her the time and space to feel safe. Once she begins to trust you, her sweet and loyal personality truly shines. She bonds deeply with her people and will be a devoted companion to the lucky family who gives her a chance. Because of her timid nature, Daisey would do best in a calm, quiet home where she can build confidence at her own pace. With love, reassurance, and a steady routine, she has so much potential to blossom into a confident and happy dog. If you’re looking for a gentle soul who just needs a little extra love, Daisey may be the perfect addition to your family.

(14) 6 Puppies: These six adorable small-to-medium mixed breed puppies are 8 weeks old and ready to find loving families. Each one has a playful, curious personality and a heart full of love to give. Whether you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, a walking partner, or a best friend for life — one of these little ones could be the perfect match. They are at that perfect age to begin bonding with their new families and learning all the good-dog basics. With patience, love, and guidance, they’ll grow into loyal and wonderful companions. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a sweet rescue pup, one (or maybe two!) of these babies would love to meet you.
