The Highland County Dog Pound has the following dogs available for adoption or rescue pulls as of Aug. 7, listed courtesy of the Friends of the Highland County Dog Pound.

(1) Brett: Brett is a charcoal Labrador who is around 3 years old. He weighs 67 lbs. He is a very good boy, and he seems to get along with other dogs. He knows how to sit but is very treat motivated, so any other training should come fairly easy. Brett is also a pro at playing fetch. This boy loves everyone he meets immediately.

(2) Albert: Albert is a Doodle who came to us as a surrender. Albert was in a house with 23 other dogs and lived with children. Albert is around 3 years old and weighs 50 lbs. Albert is friendly with our kennel tech but still has his guard up with our dog warden. Albert is only able to be pulled by a rescue for us.

(3) Lexi: Lexi is a Shepherd/Doberman mix who is 7 years old. She weighs around 50 lbs. She has been around cats and kids and other dogs. She was an owner surrender due to her owner having to move.

(4) Marshall: Marshall came to us as a stray. He is roughly around 3 years old and weighs 47 lbs. He is very sweet and such a good boy. Marshall seems to do fine with other dogs.

(5) Klaus: Klaus is a French Bulldog who weighs around 30 lbs. He is around 3 years old. He was surrendered from a breeding situation with 24 dogs. Klaus is very sweet and loves everyone he meets. He is good with other dogs.

(6) Enzo: Enzo is a French Bulldog who came to us as a surrender from a breeding situation. He is good with other dogs. He weighs around 30 lbs and is around 3 years old.

(7) Mabel: Meet Mabel. Mabel is a Lab/shepherd mix who is around 2 years old. She has a lot of energy but can also be calm. She is good with other dogs. Very sweet temperament. Look at her beautiful brown eyes.

(8) Ranger: Ranger is a Walker Coonhound who is around 6 years old. He weighs 47 lbs. He seems to be OK with other dogs. Seems to have been trained for hunting. He has a beautiful picture perfect stance.

We would be pleased to answer any questions you may have about these wonderful dogs.

At this time, pull fees are being covered for all pulled dogs by donations from Friends Of The Highland County Dog Pound:

• $10 per adult, $20 per litter. $5 vaccine charge for each dog.
• Pull fees MUST be paid before transport or the dog will not be sent.
• Please PayPal pull fees to highlandcodogpound@gmail.com.
• Please PayPal vaccine fees to: poundpals@yahoo.com.

Vetting:
• We can take dogs to the vet as long as a credit card has been called in. If you would like us to vet a dog, please contact for further information.
• Heartworm tests can be done if asked for, but we must have rescue commitment before hand, and credit card has been called in as above for general vetting.
• Dogs are vaccinated for parvo and distemper upon intake and boosted.

Disclaimer:

We do our best to test the dogs in our care and learn all we can about them, but cannot guarantee temperament or health. Many of the dogs we have came in as strays with unknown histories. We cannot guarantee we will have people available to transport or take dogs to the vet, but will always make every effort to contact you if there is a problem.
