Foley to discuss mission trip to Colombia

By
-
Hillsboro resident Anita Foley will share pictures and stories of her recent mission trip to Colombia during a luncheon at the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, 133 East Walnut St., on Dec. 11 from noon - 1 p.m.

Foley is a volunteer for Compassion International, a nonprofit, Christian child development organization that serves children and their families in 26 developing countries. Founded in 1952, the organization currently serves over 1 million children and consistently receives the highest possible ranking from Charity Navigator, an American watchdog organization that rates charities.

Foley and other volunteers traveled to Colombia to work with the child centers Compassion International has in and around Bogotá, the country's capital. The group went on home visits with some of the sponsored children, and Foley was able to meet the child her family sponsors. Our Daily Bread will provide pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw and drinks for the Dec. 11 event. All are welcome to attend and are encouraged to bring a covered dish or dessert to share.[[In-content Ad]]
