The First State Bank was recently honored at the annual Ohio Educational Service Center Association banquet for their support of youth in this community.
First State Bank was nominated by the Brown County Educational Service Center for their continuous support of student programs throughout the school districts they serve.
For the past two years, First State Bank has sponsored the Brown County Teacher of the Year award by presenting a $1,000 check to the recipient. They played an integral part in the strategic planning of Our Brown County Thriving Community’s process, which has been in existence since 2012.

Recently, the bank has provided financial support to the Brown County Connections program, which places community people in the schools to work with students on career exploration and goal setting. First State Bank sees the value in investing in the future by helping young people, so they also provide mentors in all seven of the middle schools this program serves.
