Faris to present ‘evening of magic’ at Highland House

Magicians’ colorful posters currently adorn the walls of the Highland House Museum.

Through Monday, Oct. 24, century-old posters, programs, photographs and music sets from “Magic’s Golden Age” (1890-1930) will be on display at Highland House. World-famous magicians Houdini, Blackstone and Thurston are highlighted in this exhibit.

All items are from the collection of local resident Steve Faris. Faris is himself a magician with more than 40 years of professional experience.

On the closing evening of the exhibits, Monday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m., Faris will present a discussion on the history of magic, featuring magicians and magic events directly associated with Highland County. Faris will also be performing throughout his live presentation.

The public is invited to enjoy this fun-filled, as well as educational, evening of magic.
