The Fab Five 4-H Club’s most recent meeting was held March 20 in the basement of the Leesburg Friends Church.

The meeting was called to order by Wyatt Morrow, the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Davis and the 4-H pledge was led by Hunter. Ginny Trent took attendance, and the question was “what’s your favorite fair activity?”

Ginny Trent gave the secretary's report, Maddie Caldwell gave the treasurer’s report and told members dues need to be paid, and Maddy Wiseman gave the news report.

In old business, members were told to register through 4-H online and see an adviser for assistance, with registration due by April 1.

We will be still collecting pop tabs throughout the year to donate to the Ronald McDonald House.

All livestock exhibitors need to attend quality assurance. Dates have been posted, and virtual ones were March 30, April 4, and April 14. The in-person ones were March 31 (poultry), April 20, April 27 and May 21 (rabbits).

In new business, Tammy gave the adviser report. A bake sale fundraiser has been approved.

Seniors’ 4-H cords need to be ordered through the extension office by April 17.

FCS Board applications are due April 28 for ages 13 and up.

Judging dates are: tentative July 6 summer 4-H makeup judging, 9 a.m.-noon; July 12, 4-H summer judging 9 a.m.; July 13, swine breeding and special interests judging (state fair), 9 a.m-noon; July 19, summer 4-H awards and style revue, 6:30 p.m.; Aug. 20, pre-fair judging at 9 a.m. at the fair building.

The activity was tag outside. We had a demonstration by Caleb and Ginny, and they demonstrated how to line dance (church clap).

We made a movement to pay for decorations for Sara Newsome. It was moved by Abby and seconded by Avery. Congrats to Sara Newsome for the Ohio 4-H Teen Hall of Fame Award. The 4-H Hall of Fame Award is for people who have dedicated their time and talents to make the best better.

Whitley moved to adjourn the meeting, and Hunter seconded that.
