GREENFIELD – Although Christmas season is officially over, the residents of Consulate Health Care’s Edgewood Manor of Greenfield have one more holiday surprise to share: They have chosen the winners of their annual Holiday Decorating Contest.
For the last 19 years, residents have enjoyed an evening of “sleigh riding,” touring the beautifully decorated Greenfield homes in their facility van. Then, after considering all of the festive homes, they choose a first-place winner and a second-place winner.
This year’s winner is Mr. Post, who strung more than 60,000 lights in his display. His home was not only a beautiful Christmas display, but it was also a place to help others during the holiday season: He accepted canned goods as donations to the New Directions community organization.
The second-place winner is Kit McKnight. Decorations of Santa, snowmen, baby Jesus and hundreds of lights adorned her yard.
The residents of Edgewood Manor of Greenfield want to congratulate their winners, and to let the community know how much they enjoyed the effort their neighbors put forth during the Christmas season.
