Daisy Troop tours fire station

Lead Summary

On Thursday, Oct. 10, Daisy Troop #134 visited the City of Hillsboro Fire Station to learn about fire safety and tour the facility.

The troop was greeted by Marc Bayless and Greg Lucas, who went over fire safety tips like stop, drop, cover your face and roll as well as home evacuation planning. The firefighters also demonstrated the importance of working smoke detectors, showed the girls the equipment used during fire and rescue missions and explained what to expect if they were ever in a fire and needed to be rescued.

During the tour of the facility, the girls got to see how firefighters live away from home while on duty and got a hands-on look at the fire trucks and rescue vehicles. The firefighters let the girls know they were welcome at the fire station any time.

The entire Daisy Troop would like to thank the City of Hillsboro Fire Station for all their hard work and dedication to the community and send a big thank-you to both Bayless and Lucas for their hospitality and knowledge.
