Coupon drive for U.S. troops

Eastern Star helps troops – James Walker, a member of Hillsboro Chapter No. 441 Order of the Eastern Star, is shown sorting manufacturers’ coupons to be sent to military troops and their families. Mr. Walker is the chapter’s marshal and presents the United States flag during the saying of the Pledge of Allegiance at the meetings. The members collected a total of $26,599 in coupons; $23,170 was sent to troops stationed in the states and $3,429 was sent to troops who are serving overseas. Mr. Walker sorted the coupons by food and non-food products, and by their value. The members of the chapter donated for the postage to send the coupons.[[In-content Ad]]
