Chamber announces Support Local Campaign

The Highland County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the return of the organization’s annual Moose on the Loose – Support Local Campaign. Beginning November 3 and running through December 19, Marvin, the Chamber moose, will trek across Highland County visiting Chamber-member businesses to celebrate supporting local. The Moose on the Loose – Support Local Campaign’s goal is to encourage the community to take advantage of the products and resources right here in Highland County.

The Chamber will publish a calendar showing where Marvin will be each week day from November 3 through December 19. The public is invited to stop by, snap a photo with Marvin, and explore each host business. Many locations will offer one-day specials and giveaways while Marvin is on site. The calendar will be available at www.thehighlandchamber.com and on the Chamber’s social media channels.

New for 2025, thanks to a partnership with the Visitors Bureau of Highland County, participants can use the Goosechase app to record their visits with Marvin. Each recorded visit equals one entry for a chance to win a local prize pack valued at over $200. Instructions and the game code will be posted with the calendar on the Chamber website and shared on social media.

In addition to his scheduled stops, Marvin will be participating in Uptown Hillsboro’s First Friday event on November 7 and on December 5 the public is welcome to stop at the Chamber office to get their picture taken with Marvin during the Uptown tree lighting festivities.  

How to participate

1) Find Marvin: View the daily calendar at www.thehighlandchamber.com and on Facebook and Instagram at @TheHCCOC.

2) Visit the host business: Stop in on Marvin’s scheduled day. Look for in-store specials and activities.

3) Record your visit: Download the Goosechase app from the App Store or Google Play. Search for Moose on the Loose – Highland County or enter the game code from our website. Follow the prompts to submit your visit.

4) Share your fun: Post your photos and tag @TheHCCOC. Use #MooseOnTheLooseHC to help spread the word.

5) Win local: Each visit you record in Goosechase earns you an entry toward the $200+ prize pack. Full details and rules will be posted online. No purchase necessary.
