The Highland Harvesters 4-H club held their fourth meeting Feb. 26 at the Leesburg Community Room.
After the pledges were completed, the club welcomed David Bushelman, director of the Highland County Emergency Management Agency, to the meeting. He discussed practices all members can take to help keep them safe during emergencies.
Bushelman talked about how to prepare for an event such as a tornado or an event like a house fire. He also talked about how to determine if you have been affected by extreme heat or extreme cold.
The members were able to ask questions and enjoyed hearing about some of the extreme situations that have occurred in Highland County during Bushelman’s time as the EMA director.
4-H members also learned of important countywide dates for the year.
