This year's Buford Memorial Day service will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 30 in the Buford Cemetery.
The guest speaker will be Hillsboro City Auditor Alex Butler.
Butler, a 2009 graduate of Hillsboro High School, earned his associate’s degree in Biblical studies from Cincinnati Christian University (2011) and bachelor’s in business administration from Xavier University (2014). In 2018, he completed Basic Combat Training and Officer Candidate School in Fort Benning, Ga., where he commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S Army Reserve. He is currently a first lieutenant and member of the 372d Military Intelligence Battalion in Norwood.
The Highland County Honor Guard also will be participating in the Buford Memorial Day observance.
