Brush and Palette Art Guild announce 58th annual Art Show winners

The Brush and Palette Art Guild held its 58th annual art show at Southern State Community College’s central campus the weekend of June 27-28.

There were 150 paintings entered by both professional and non-professional members. The artwork was judged by Robert and Carin Hebenstreit, artists and teachers from Cincinnati who awarded ribbons for the following categories: Professional Best of Show, Cecile Baird; Professional Reserve Best of Show, Mary Braun; Non-Professional Best of Show, Kim Giordano; Non-Professional Reserve Best of Show, Brenda Daulton; Julia Barthel Award, Marjorie Muller; Violet Linton Award, Mary Jo Copeland.

Best of Division awards for Professional were awarded to: Cecile Baird; Elaine Balsley; Mary Braun; Hal Harvey; Sue Lamke and Evelyn Pierson. Non-Professional Best of Division went to: Sandy Adams; Barb Barker; Mary Jo Copeland; Brenda Daulton; Glen Davis; Lelia Dorman; Kim Giordano; Jaan Kangro; Amanda Koehler; Bill Shafer; Joann White and Mary Wilkin.

The Theme for this year’s show was “Reflections” with First Place going to Cecile Baird, Second to Marjorie Muller, Third to Kim Giordiano and Honorable Mention to Marjorie Muller. The People’s Choice award was won by Cecile Baird for her amazing color pencil drawing “Nautilus Reflections.”
