Britain to celebrate 100th birthday

Mable Marie Britain of Hillsboro will celebrate her 100th birthday on Oct. 5.

Britain was born Oct. 5, 1915 in Adams County to the late John and Amanda Mae McCarty of Mowrystown.

Britain had three children: the late John (Audrey Britain) Britain of Indianapolis, Marilyn (the late Laverne Allen) Allen of Washington Court House and Larry Britain (Alicia Britain) of Hillsboro.

Britain's grandchildren include Lori Williams, John Britain Jr., Troy Britain, Angela Britain-Smith, Diane Roberts, Janice Davidson, David Allen, Johnny Allen (deceased), Larry Britain II and Lori Welling, along with 21 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Britain resides at Heartland of Hillsboro, where she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She stays active and loves flowers.
