Bowles to perform benefit concert at Leesburg UMC

Leesburg United Methodist Church will host Glenn Bowles in concert Sunday, Nov. 10 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The church is located at 119 Church Street, Leesburg 45135.
This is the church’s fourth annual benefit concert for the Friendly Village Community Center Food Pantry in Leesburg. Admission is free; however, a freewill offering will be taken with 100 percent of the donations going to the Food Pantry.
The music will be presented by Glenn Bowles, who has been a singer/performer since the age of 15, has toured the country as a member of The Van-Dells and was named one of the Top 10 Elvis tribute artists in the world by the estate of Elvis Presley. Bowles will take you through the not-often-explored gospel music of Elvis Presley as well as share his own personal journey toward salvation. Also featured will be LUMC’s Crazy Praising Puppets and Leesburg’s 4-Given Quartet.

The Friendly Village Community Center provides basic foods for approximately 70 families per month from the Leesburg area. Funding for the center comes from local churches, civic organizations and individual donations, but extra help is needed during the holiday season.
The center is now located in the building directly behind Leesburg Fire Department on Pope Street. The center is open the second and fourth Saturday of each month, 9 a.m. to noon. If you wish to donate by mail, please make checks payable to the Friendly Village Community Center and mail to PO Box 194, Leesburg, Ohio 45135. The center is also collecting gloves, hats and scarves for all ages.
In addition to providing food, the center also spearheads the Adopt-A-Child Christmas Program in Leesburg. There are approximately 100 children in this program who live in the Fairfield School District. If you are interested in adopting a child for Christmas, stop in and see Jeanette Turner, Director, or call (937) 780-1093.
