Benefit for Aralyn Slack set for June 2

Aralyn’s Turtley Awesome Event, a benefit for Aralyn’s Alliance, will be held June 2 from 6-11 p.m. at the Lake View Loft, located at 10215 Jones Road, Hillsboro.

All proceeds will go to the family of Aralyn Slack, a 10-year-old from Lynchburg who is fighting DIPG, a terminal, aggressive form of brain cancer.

The event will include catered food with a cash donation bar; split the pot and raffle items; and a silent auction including a quarter beef, Yeti cooler filled with liquor, a gun raffle and more. There will also be a bouncy house, “dunk a trucker dunk tank” and face painting. A concert featuring Filo Beddoe will begin at 8 p.m.

There will be a semi truck parade from Hillsboro to the Lake View Loft, with Aralyn arriving in Pinky 1 at 7:45 p.m.
