“Hey Jude,” “Eleanor Rigby” and “Let It Be” are among the many songs fans will be singing along to the evening of July 11 at the Highland County Senior Citizens Center.

A concert will be performed by a live professional Beatles tribute band named, 8 Days a Week-Beatles Tribute Show. Their show has excited audiences from Washington D.C. to Las Vegas and now they can add Hillsboro to their list.

A sit-down dinner will be held prior to the concert, then fans can get ready for Beatlemania and a glimpse of a Beatles-like concert as it was in the 1960s. The costumes, the characters, the Beatles fans and the music will be an evening to remember.

Doors open for this event at 6 p.m., at which time dinner will be served to guests. The concert and show will follow. The show is about one hour and a half with a brief intermission for the band to do a costume change. All guests have an opportunity to win a door prize and to get photos with the band.

Tickets are on sale now at the center and the main branch of Merchants National Bank, also the event’s sponsor. Advance tickets are $15 and at-door tickets are $18. These prices include dinner, dessert and the show. The community is encouraged to attend this benefit concert for the senior center.

Green beans in a buttercream sauce “Come Together” for the perfect side dish along with “U.S.S.R.” potatoes and a dinner roll will be served to each guest. Dessert (very ’60s) is a fresh fruit and Jell-O mix “Yellow Submarine” topped with whipped cream.

After dinner, see a very “Beatles” introduction as the band arrives by limo down Muntz Street with screaming fans to greet them. Bring your “I love you, Paul” sign and dancing shoes for an evening of great music and fun.

The center would like to thank all supporters who have made this event possible.
