Area men take oath of enlistment in local ceremony

U.S. Army Reserve Second Lieutenant Alex Butler led several area enlistees in the oath of enlistment in a swearing-in ceremony Friday, Oct. 18 at Richards Memorial Field, prior to the Hillsboro High School football game against the Washington Blue Lions.

Skyler Bass, Nathan Franz, Matthew Horn and Chandler Patrick recited the oath of enlistment, which Butler said has to be administered by an officer. Local recruiters were also on hand for the ceremony.
