Annual Samantha Penn Township School Reunion returns Sept. 18

The Samantha Penn Township School Reunion will return, after a hiatus due to the pandemic, Sunday, Sept. 18 with a carry-in dinner to be served at 1 p.m.
Drinks and table service will be provided.
As in previous years, the event will be held at the Samantha Friends Church Fellowship Hall, located at the corner of U.S. 62 and Fall Creek Road in Samantha.
Organizers were unable to conduct the reunion during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, and it will be nice for everyone to be together again for the 67th reunion.
Anyone who has ever attended the Samantha School is welcome to attend the reunion. Organizers are always looking for Samantha students who would enjoy attending, so please call acting chairman Mrs. Norma Gray Edwards at (937) 780-7777 should you have any information pertaining to former students at this school.
The Class of 1962 will be recognized this year, since it was the last class to graduate from the eighth grade before the school was closed and the building later removed.
Before the Samantha Penn Township School was consolidated with the Leesburg Fairfield School District in 1961, students attended at Samantha through the eighth grade. Then they had a choice of attending the Leesburg or Hillsboro high schools.
