Altrusa International of Highland County
Altrusa International of Highland County continues to make a meaningful impact in the community through its many literacy initiatives, while also promoting the values of patriotism.
Club members have supported a variety of patriotic efforts, including filling stockings for veterans, sending cards and gifts to active-duty military families during the Christmas season, and most recently assisting Georgetown Veterans Home with their Book Battalion project.
The Book Battalion project earned first place-recognition at the recent District Five Altrusa Conference. In addition, the project was honored with the Dayton Clara Weisenborn Patriotism Award, which is presented annually to a club whose service project or educational activity best exemplifies the Altrusa ideal of patriotism.
