Altrusa donates to local schools for Make a Difference Day

Altrusa recently participated in Make a Difference Day.

Underwear and socks were delivered to the grade schools in Highland County. Altrusa collected hundreds of socks and underwear to distribute to the schools.

Altrusa continues to support the schools of Highland County in many ways, including the annual Altrusa-AAUW Book Sale on Nov. 4 and 5.

Barrels for the collection of gently used books have been placed in the Hillsboro, Greenfield, Lynchburg and Leesburg public libraries, in addition to Kroger and the Community Markets in Hillsboro and Greenfield. No magazines, encyclopedias, texts or condensed books, please.

The book sale will be held at the Giovanni Pizza - Rent 2 Own shopping mall on North High Street in Hillsboro on Friday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit local scholarships and literacy projects.
