5 members share demonstrations at recent Premier Showmen meeting

The Premier Showmen 4-H Club held a meeting Sunday, Aug. 8 at the home of Brayden Cummings.

The meeting was called to order by the Vice President, Sydney Sanders, at 7 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Shannon Combs, and the 4-H Pledge was led by Landry Teeters.

The members participated in a water sponge relay race for the leadership game. In the game, the members had to wet a sponge, place the sponge under their chin and then race around a tree with before emptying the sponge into a bucket.

Five members gave their demonstrations. Ethan Cummings did his demonstration on how to patch a tire. Alana Miller did her demonstration of how to make homemade trail mix.

Teeters gave her demonstration on how to make pink lemonade. Carson Grooms gave his demonstration on how to tag a pig. Last, John Miller gave his demonstration on how to make on his Science Fun with Physics project and did a magic trick on how to get an egg inside of a bottle.

During new business several dates were reviewed regarding 4-H judging, state fair and county fair. Club T-shirt orders were collected. For species work, the members went over breeds of their species.

Cloverbuds were dismissed for their activity, which was tie-dying T-shirts. For recreation, Brayden Cummings gave members the opportunity to pet his 1-month-old donkey, Brownie.

The motion to adjourn was moved by Landry Teeters. The next meeting will be held Sunday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m.
