4-H campers enjoy Canter's Cave

More than 120 youths from Highland, Jackson, Pike and Scioto counties, attended 4-H Beginner Camp this year at Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp, June 17-20.

The theme for this year’s camp was “Welcome to the Wild West!”

Campers experienced a variety of educational activities which included a lesson in roping by a real roping team.

Other activities experienced by campers include hiking, boating, archery, line dancing, building and racing covered wagons, swimming, songs, games, talent performances, crafts and a community service project where campers made lap blankets for nursing homes in each of the counties.

Junior High Camp begins on Monday, June 24 and will include youths from Adams, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Pike and Scioto counties.
