Always coinciding with the opening of the Fall Festival of Leaves in Bainbridge, Christmas at the Cabin will open on Friday, Oct. 14 and then be open daily, except Mondays, until mid-December.
This charming holiday shop is located on Cave Road just off of U.S. Route 50, midway between Hillsboro and Chillicothe and four miles west of Bainbridge.
A visit to the cabin has come to be an area tradition for many local folks. Some folks say they haven’t had their Christmas until they’ve been to the cabin.
Begun as a one weekend craft show many years ago, Christmas at the Cabin now is open for about two months prior to Christmas every year.
Hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sundays 1-5 p.m., and on Thanksgiving evening 4-9 p.m.
Janny Brizius, who owns and operates the shop, will not accept anything but the highest quality of hand-crafted wares, and she also will not accept them if she feels the artisan is pricing them too high, so you can be assured that you’ll probably be able to find that “something special “for the hard-to buy-for person on your list.
The cabin features jewelry, clothing, household decor, dolls and toys, very special Christmas decorations and ornaments, and much more.
