Richard 'Iron Mike' Barger

Richard “Iron Mike” Barger, 71, of Sardinia, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023.

He was born Aug. 25, 1951 in South Bend, Ind., the son of the late Richard and Imogene (Tucker) Barger.

Mike was a member of the AQHA and New Life Ministry.

Mike is survived by his wife, Cindy (Norris) Barger; daughter, Amanda Sutphin of LaFontaine, Ind.; sons, Jason Bruegger of Williamsburg, Derek Bruegger of Glen Burnie, Md. and Matthew Bruegger of Florence, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; siblings, Pam Rospopo, Sue Barger and Steve Barger; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his baby sister, Debbie Barger.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Thompson Funeral Home has the honor of serving the family.
