COLUMBUS – Note: State Rep. Bob Peterson (R-Sabina) this week spoke in favor of House Resolution 292, which expresses the Ohio House’s unwavering support for the people of Israel and condemns the recent attacks against the State of Israel.

Peterson gave the following speech to his colleagues:

My family and I visited Israel last January. We celebrated our faith, and we walked in the footsteps of our Lord. The great thing we saw was a people full of faith, who were fun-loving, they loved their country, and they loved people.

It’s a shock to see so many of the places that we were in just a few short months ago on our news stations with the tragedies and atrocities that are unimaginable.

I want to thank my colleagues for strongly condemning the extreme violence against innocent civilians. I want to make sure the people of Israel, Jewish people around the world, and people who love Israel know that we care, we believe, and we will stand by you.

Don’t ever underestimate the amount of trade and the partnership that we have with Israel. They’re our strongest ally in the region and maybe one of the strongest in the world.

I have a desire for peace in the Middle East and across the world, so no innocent lives must die again.

Rep. Bob Peterson is currently serving his first term as state representative for the 91st Ohio House District, which includes all of Fayette, Highland and Pike counties and western Ross County.
