Reds announce homestand highlights for May 5-11

The Cincinnati Reds have announced the following homestand highlights for their series versus the Chicago White Sox and New York Mets.

Friday, May 5 – Reds vs. Chicago White Sox, 6:40 p.m. (gates open at 5:10 p.m.)

• Radio: 700WLW and stations on the Reds Radio Network (Tommy Thrall & Jeff Brantley)
• Fireworks Friday: Rozzi’s fireworks show presented by Woodbridge Wines to begin shortly after the game ends.
• Bald Eagle Flight: “Sam” the Bald Eagle from the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden will perform a flight from the TriHealth Riverboat Deck to the pitcher’s mound during the singing of the National Anthem. Sam began making these flights in 2004.
• STAR WARS™ Characters: As part of STAR WARS™ Night, over 20 characters from the iconic film series will be greeting fans around the ballpark.
• GE Weekend: Many of this weekend’s pregame activities will celebrate the 51st annual GE Weekend. Since 1973, GE has distributed over 900,000 Reds tickets to their employees and families.
 
Saturday, May 6 – Reds vs. Chicago White Sox, 6:40 p.m. (gates open at 5:10 p.m.)

• Johnny Bench Funko POP! Giveaway: Fans in attendance will receive a Johnny Bench Funko POP! presented by Montgomery Inn, while supplies last.

• Radio: 700WLW and stations on the Reds Radio Network (Tommy Thrall & Jeff Brantley)
• Kids Sticker Sheet: As a part of Family Sundays at the ballpark, kids 14 and younger will receive a Kids Sticker Sheet that features the Reds Country Cares program and is presented by Texas Roadhouse, while supplies last.
• Reds Futures High School Showcase “March at the Majors”: Players and coaches from 92 high school baseball and softball teams who are participating in the 12th annual Skyline Chili Reds Futures High School Showcase presented by Cincinnati Children’s Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics will be featured in a “March at the Majors” pregame parade. This year’s showcase features 78 Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Southeast Indiana and Dayton schools playing games from March 31 to May 13.
 
Tuesday, May 9 – Reds vs. New York Mets, 6:40 p.m. (gates open at 5:10 p.m.)
• TV: Bally Sports Ohio (John Sadak, Barry Larkin & Jim Day)
• Radio: 700WLW and stations on the Reds Radio Network (Tommy Thrall & Jeff Brantley)
• Bark in the Park: Over 200 dogs and their owners will be at the game for the first Bark in the Park of the season, presented by Purina and Kroger. Dogs and their owners can enjoy pet activities, samples and more in the First Star Fan Zone. Dog packages must be purchased in advance of game day at reds.com/bark.
• 3-2-1 Tuesday: For all Tuesday home games this season, fans can purchase $3 Buds and Bud Lights (12 oz. cans), $2 hot dogs and $1 ice cream cups, presented by Budweiser and Bud Light.
 
Wednesday, May 10 – Reds vs. New York Mets, 6:40 p.m. (gates open at 5:10 p.m.)
• TV: Bally Sports Ohio (John Sadak, Barry Larkin & Jim Day)
• Radio: 700WLW and stations on the Reds Radio Network (Tommy Thrall & Jeff Brantley)
• Police & Fire Appreciation Night: Many of tonight’s pregame ceremonies will feature members of local police, fire, sheriff and EMT departments, presented by TriHealth.
• Mental Health Awareness Month: May is Mental Health Awareness month and as part of this month’s Reds Country Cares focus on mental health awareness, pregame ceremonies will help raise awareness on this important topic.
• Reds Country Athletic Achievement Award: Members of the Ursuline Academy volleyball team will be honored during pregame ceremonies with a Reds Country Athletic Achievement Award for winning the 2022 Ohio Division I State Championship.
 
Thursday, May 11 – Reds vs. New York Mets, 12:35 p.m. (gates open at 11:05 a.m.)

• George Vogel Ceremony: WLWT News 5 Sports Director George Vogel will be honored during pregame ceremonies. He recently retired from WLWT after an almost 42-year career covering professional, collegiate, and high school sports across Greater Cincinnati and the Tri-State
• First pitch: National touring comedian, actor and TV host Jeff Dye will offer up a ceremonial first pitch. Jeff is attempting to throw out a first pitch at all 30 MLB ballparks.
 
Special offers for the Homestand
• Family Sunday –  May 7: For all Sunday Reds home games, families can get up to three half-price tickets with the purchase of a full-price ticket, presented by Klosterman Bakery. Some restrictions apply. Available only at reds.com/Family.
• 3-2-1 Tuesday – May 9: For all Tuesday home games this season, fans can purchase $3 Buds and Bud Lights (12 oz. cans), $2 hot dogs and $1 ice cream cups, presented by Budweiser and Bud Light. • Senior Day – May 11: Fans 50 and older may purchase select non-premium tickets at half-price in advance of game day. Excludes Premium Seats, Fioptics District, Upper View Level, Value View and Kroger Bleachers. Some restrictions apply. Available at reds.com/Seniors.
• Thirsty Thursday – May 11: For all Thursday Reds home games, fans can purchase a $30 package that includes a Field Box or Terrace Line ticket and a $10 concession credit valid for food and beverages. Available only at reds.com/Thursday.
 
Reds Community Fund
• Redlegs Run – June 10: Sign up now for the 2023 CollegeAdvantage Redlegs Run on Saturday, June 10 at Great American Ball Park, benefiting the Reds Community Fund. Runners, walkers and families have many options to participate including a 10K, 5K, One Mile Run/Walk, Gapper’s Kids Fun Run and virtual races options. Register online at reds.com/Run.
• Split the Pot presented by First Community Mortgage: Fans in the ballpark and at home can play Split the Pot this season at reds5050.com. The rolling jackpot is currently over $1,300 and one lucky winner will be picked following the game on May 7. Reds Hall of Fame & Museum presented by Dinsmore
• Tyler Stephenson signing – May 6: Meet Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson at the Saturday, May 6 at the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Signing and photo packages include admission to the Hall of Fame and a Hall of Fame logo hat. • Reds Hall of Fame 2023 Collectible Gift Series: The Reds Hall of Fame and Museum presented by Dinsmore begins its 2023 collectible gift series in May with the Hall of Fame logo baseball cap. The baseball cap, presented by Dinsmore, is free with regular-price paid admission to the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum (or a Great American Ball Park tour) on Saturdays and Sundays in May.
• Kids and Military FREE at the Reds Hall of Fame: Kids 12 and under can always explore the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum presented by Dinsmore for free, courtesy of the H.C.S. Foundation. Admission for active military and veterans is free, courtesy of the Sargent Family Foundation.
