Ray Anthony “Tony” Bear

Ray Anthony “Tony” Bear, 57, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. 

He was born Nov. 10, 1965, in Wilmington, the son of the late Charles William “Bill” Bear and Ruth (Foster) Wagner. 

Tony proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was the owner and operator of Bear Mechanical, LLC for over 22 years. He was a member of the Hillsboro VFW Post 9094, a member of the Hillsboro Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1161 and the Sardinia Masonic Lodge 254 F&AM. Tony was also a member of the NRA and Whitetails Unlimited. 

Tony was a working man. He loved to run equipment. Always looking for a new project. He enjoyed ATV riding and spending time at a family farm in Kentucky. He loved anything outdoors. Tony loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed. 

Tony is survived by his wife, Laura Bear, whom he married on Nov. 6, 2015; daughter, Ashlee Bear (Tyler Gregory); stepdaughter, Hannah Majoewsky; three siblings, Heith (Linda) Butler, Dathan (Patricia) Bear and Rebecca (Doug) Geiger; nephew, Eric Bear; his loyal dog, Bella Jane; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Robin Michelle Bear; a son, Michael Anthony Bear; and a brother, Charles Dupre “Chuck” Bear. 

A private celebration of Tony’s life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to KAMP Dovetail, c/o S.A.T.H, 5350 West New Market Road, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
