Pickaway County man accused of stabbing, killing 2 men

Pickaway County Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey announced Wednesday that an Orient man has been charged with murder and kidnapping in connection with the deaths of two men.

On Oct. 23 at 10:52 p.m., the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call about a person who found a relative dead at a residence on U.S. 62 in Orient.
 
Deputies arrived on scene a short time later and located two males deceased in a back bedroom. The victims were identified as a 58-year-old male and a 22-year-old male, both from Orient.

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigations Crime Scene Unit arrived to process the scene.
 
The bodies of both victims were transported to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy. The autopsy revealed both victims had multiple stab wounds.
 
The Detective Bureau has worked tirelessly on this case. Within the first day of the investigation, they interviewed multiple people and executed multiple search warrants.
 
On Oct. 25 at a little after 5 a.m., the Pickaway County SRT took a suspect, Marty R. Dotson, 44, of Orient, into custody at his residence. Dotson was charged with two counts of murder and one count of kidnapping.
 
Sheriff Hafey would like to thank BCI and his deputies, especially his investigators in the Detective Bureau for their continuous relentless effort on this case. Due to their tireless dedication, they were quickly able to establish probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant.
