Pamela Jean Hester

Pamela Jean Hester, 66, of Leesburg, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.
 
She was born Aug. 11, 1956 in Greenfield, the daughter of Fred B. Cox Sr. and Telytha (Baker) Cox.
 
She was a 1974 graduate of Fairfield High School, where she also dedicated 30 years of her life caring for the children and the school.
 
She loved shooting pool, reading books, working on puzzles and traveling. Her children and grandchildren were her passion and delight. She had many friends and was a well-loved member of the Leesburg community, where she was known for her big heart, witty sense of humor and banana cream pie. 
 
She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Warren Edward Hester; two sons, Warren Edward II “Sonny” (Melissa) Hester of Leesburg and Benjamin (Daphne) Hester of Martinsville; one daughter, Savannah (Kimo) Trevino of Highland; seven grandchildren, Chelsie (Jake), Allissa, Aidan, Layla, Ava, Lillyan and Alia; one great-granddaughter, Margo; four sisters, Gertrude Howland of Highland, Laura (Wilbur) Young of Leesburg, Cynthia (Rick) Simmons of Leesburg and Teresa (Danny) Kretzer of Leesburg; one brother, Joseph (Marcelina) Cox of Panama; and many nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Cecilia Cox and Victoria Hodge; one brother, Fred “Dean” Cox Jr.; and both parents.
 
Mass of Christian burial/funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 5 at 10 a.m. at the St. Benignus Catholic Church in Greenfield with Father Mike Paraniuk and Pastor Jeff Barnhart officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield.
 
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days.
