Rep. Higgins issues statement on evidence involving Biden family

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA), a senior Republican on the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, this week issued a statement regarding the recent findings of thousands of pages of financial records revealing the Biden family’s entanglements with foreign nationals.

Congressman Higgins issued the following statement:

“I’ve been advising for months that Oversight Committee investigators had discovered the existence of bank records called Suspicious Activity Reports relating to money originating from China and other nations… millions of dollars… moved through very suspicious accounts into Biden Family shell LLC’s. I’ve honestly and calmly revealed what I could, as appropriate. I take no pleasure in revealing these truths to the American people. I’m simply doing my job. As a senior member of the House Oversight Committee, I’ve sworn to address corruption at the highest levels.”

“As an investigator, I recognize that bank records are amongst the most irrefutable form of evidence. Every American knows that bank documents are unbiased. They’re just accounts and numbers and dates and times. They’re not opinions, they’re not Republican bank documents or Democrat bank documents. And whereas one bank form might be forged, or one bank compromised, when multiple banks produce hundreds of SAR’s relating to one family… well, I’m sorry America, but that’s a compilation of hard, cold evidence.

“We’re talking about a dozen banks and at least 150 SAR’s and no less than 30 million dollars, and we’re just getting started. POTUS Biden and guys like Jamie Raskin have done everything in their power to conceal this evidence and push back against our investigation, but there’s only so much they can do. I mean, we’re Congress, and bank records are bank records. I knew we’d eventually get access. An SAR is generated, by law, by a federally insured American bank if that bank observes clearly suspicious movement of large sums of money.

"The SAR is reported to the Treasury Department and historically, SAR’s have always been available to Congress. Biden changed that as soon as he was in office, as soon as he had executive authority over the Treasury Department. He ordered Treasury to suppress the release of SAR’s, including from Congress. We didn’t even know he had done that, it was done quietly, and we weren’t looking for SAR’s, I didn’t’ even know what an SAR was, had never heard of such a thing. Most Americans will live our entire life and never be subject to a Suspicious Activity Report no matter how much money is moved through our bank accounts.”

“Thousands of small businesses move tons of money through American banks every day in every community in every state and never even come close to a SAR. The Biden’s had 150 of them over just a few years and POTUS took steps to hide them from Congress. We only found out about them because of a media leak last year. That’s when we started investigating, and I knew right away that if we could access actual bank documents that revealed money laundering and indicated the trafficking of influence all the way into the Biden Vice Presidency, that would be a bell no one could unring.”

“Today, Oversight Committee Republicans are pulling back the curtain a bit, but trust me America, there’s more, much more. In the coming months, we’re going to reveal truths that will shock the world, and will no doubt force the end of the Biden Family era of corruption.”
