Wilson Sandlin, 68, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024 at Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.  
 
He was born Jan. 14, 1956 in Buckhorn, Ky., the son of the late Elisha Sandlin and Emma (Caldwell) Sandlin. 

Wilson retired from CSX as an equipment operator after 41 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family, who will miss him dearly.

On Sept. 24, 2011, he married Debora (McIntosh) Sandlin.
 
Surviving are his loving wife, Deb Sandlin; two sons, Jeff (Brooke) Sandlin and Brandon (Amanda) Sandlin, both of Jamestown; a stepson, Phillip (Jenny) Harner of Wilmington; seven grandchildren, Dylan, Drew, Daylee, Madison, Logan, Luke and Kali; four sisters, Jean Werner, Mary Fry, Alice (Bert) Hubbard and Christine (Richard) Fry; a brother, George (Heidi) Sandlin; and many nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to his parents, Wilson was preceded in death by four brothers, Leo, Troy, Danny and Paul Sandlin; and two sisters, Thelma Morris and Della Mae Sandlin.
 
Funeral services will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St. Wilmington, Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. with Joshua Reynolds officiating.  
 
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-6 p.m.
