Wilma (Brown) Riddell, 85 of Gilmer, Texas, formerly Hillsboro, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024 in Gilmer, Texas.   

She was born Dec. 31, 1938 in Garrison, Ky. to the late Lewis Wetsel Brown and Jewell Elsie (Green) Brown. 

The family moved to Adams County, Ohio when she was 10, and she graduated from Seaman High School in 1957. She married in 1958 and had four daughters, whom she raised on her own. She retired from the Highland County Sheriff’s Office in December 2000.  

Wilma is survived by four daughters, Koneta Bailey of Hillsboro, Kozetta Parworth (Lori Thibault) of Englewood, Fla., Kara Barr (William Callaway) of Gilmer, Texas and Karma (Christopher) Bosworth of Punta Gorda, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Geneva Miller of Winchester. Many friends and many of her daughters' friends considered her as a second mom.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Faye Kamer, Marcelene McGlone and Ivory Brown (who just passed away on May 6, 2024).

A celebration of life is scheduled to be in Ohio at a later date and time.
