William J. "Bill" Tharp, 87, of Hillsboro, passed away Monday, Sept. 30. 2024.

He was born May 22, 1937 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Harold and Louise (Freshour) Tharp.

Bill was a graduate from Hillsboro High School, where afterward he went on to graduate from Barber School, sell real estate and deliver for The Cincinnati Enquirer.

He is survived by his daughter, Tonya (Dave) Williams of Leesburg; a son, Rodney (Jenny) Tharp, of Nokomis, Fla.; significant other, Bonnie Campbell; five grandchildren, Angel (Bill) Washington, Cody (Naomi) Williams, Tyler Williams, Aaliyah Williams and Dylan Tharp; a sister, Wanda Bond, of Westerville and special friend Tom Koehler.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann (Allen) Tharp; and granddaughter, Tiffany Williams.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Friends may call from noon-1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.
