Wilbur Lee 'Will' Barnhart

Wilbur Lee “Will” Barnhart, 88, of Wilmington, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. 
 
He was born Feb. 3, 1936 in Cincinnati, the son of the late Homer Hensel and Celeste Ellen (Garner) Barnhart. 

On Jan. 21, 1984 in Columbus, he married Donna Lee Richmond Barnhart, who survives.
 
Will had worked as a marketing director in agribusiness for 20 years, then at the Pinkerton Detective Agency for 12 years, and finally with the Burn Detective Agency for 12 years.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Wilmington and the Antique Power Club of Clinton County.

In addition to his wife, other surviving family members are his sons, Eric (Michele) Barnhart of Wake Forest, N.C. and David Edmondson of Dunsmuir, Calif.; daughter, Susan (Richard) Strang of Santa Fe, N.M.; grandchildren, Aaron Lee Barnhart and Joanne Michele Barnhart; brothers, Joe (Judy) Barnhart of Sebring, Fla. and Ben Barnhart of Los Alamos, N.M.; and his former wives, Joanne Hoffman Barnhart and Carol Edmondson Barnhart.

Memorial services will be held Monday, Oct. 14, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church, 421 East Vine Street, Wilmington, with Pastor Joel Richter officiating. Interment will be in the Lithopolis Cemetery, Canal Winchester, at the family's convenience.
 
A gathering of friends will be Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington has been entrusted with the arrangements.
