W. Dean Gardner

W. Dean Gardner, 96, of South Salem, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025, with his wife, Jackie, holding his hand. 

He was born in Highland Township, Iowa on Jan. 4, 1929. 

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Warning Gardner; sons, Larry Gardner and Bruce (Hilde) Gardner; grandsons, Erik (Samantha) Gardner and David (Daniela) Moritz; and a host of family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Madge; four brothers; and his first wife, Mary. 

A memorial service will be noon Thursday, April 10 at the Greenfield Church of Christ in Greenfield, with visitation starting at 11 a.m. Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt or bright colors. 

The Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home, Greenfield, is serving the family.
