Vicki Lee Butler, 60, passed away June 29, 2024 in Winter Garden, Fla.
She was born Nov. 25, 1963, in Wilmington.
Vicki was a treasured soul who touched the lives of many with her heartfelt kindness and selfless nature. Vicki devoted her life to the noble profession of teaching, shaping young minds with love and dedication for 30 years at Hillsboro City Schools. Upon retiring from her beloved career, she found joy in bringing happiness to others by working at Walt Disney World Resort for nearly five years.
A faithful servant of the Lord, Vicki was an active and devoted member of Mosaic Church in Winter Garden, Fla. Her unwavering faith and commitment to her community were evident to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Vicki enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including a love of reading, the excitement of travel and adventure, and spending time with her family – truly finding joy in anything they did together, especially visiting the Disney parks.
Vicki leaves behind her adoring husband of 40 years, Jim; her beloved children, Laura and Christopher; her loving mother, Dorcas Butler; her caring siblings, Karen (Darren) Kessel and Rob (Megan) Butler; and her cherished nieces and nephews, Nicholas and Elizabeth Kessel, and William, Caroline and John Butler.
She joins in eternal rest her father, Dennis Butler; and brother, Bruce Butler.
A service to honor and celebrate Vicki’s life will take place on Saturday, July 13 from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Hillsboro Church of Christ in Hillsboro.
