Tracey Rae Hampton, 56, of Lynchburg, passed away after a short illness at Bethesda North Hospital on April 3, 2024.

She was born Oct. 27, 1967 in Cincinnati, the daughter of the late Elmo Nelson Walters and Bonita Sue Smith Walters.

Tracey was a hard worker, having worked at AVI food systems for 25 years and then later at Kroger. She enjoyed relaxing with her dog. But Tracey’s biggest accomplishment and her pride and joy were her two children. She never missed a moment to tell her kids how proud she was.

Tracey is survived by her children, Daniel (Janie Pierson) Hampton of Amelia and Amy (Brad McCravy) Hampton of Hillsboro; siblings, Greg (Theresa “Teri”) Walters of Hillsboro and Nicole Bailey of St. Martin; and nieces, Alexa Bailey and Jamie Cox.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, April 10 followed by services at Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Burial will follow at Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery.
