Tommy Gene Blair

Tommy Gene Blair, 91, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023 at home.
 
He was born Sept. 8, 1932 in Greenfield, the son of William Watson and Constance Louise (Clements) Blair.
 
Tommy was a 1952 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He attended the Trinity Christian Church of Greenfield.
 
He retired from the U.S. Shoe Factory in 1993 after many years of employment.
 
He is survived by his wife, Flora Elizabeth (Van Meter) Blair, whom he married March 1, 1958; one son, Larry (Lorraine) Newland of Indiana; three daughters, Carol Newland Strickler of Washington C.H., Kathy (Mike) Bowman of Greenfield and Diana (Eddie) Clifton of Peebles; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
 
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Cody Clifton; one great-grandson, Deacon McMurry; one brother, John William “Jerry” Blair; and both parents.
 
Funeral service will be Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 1 p.m. at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield, beginning with a veterans appreciation service then Pastor Marcus Tolle to officiate. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery, with military rites provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield.
 
Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
