Thomas 'Tom' Robert Kennon

Thomas “Tom” Robert Kennon, 75, of Cincinnati, formerly of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024. 

He was born Aug. 21, 1948, in Hillsboro, the son of the late Arlene Kennon. 

Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam, and he was honorably awarded two Purple Hearts for his actions. Tom was known by his family and friends as “Catfish” or “Tom Cat.” He loved taking his boat out on the lake to bass fish, and from time to time he would enter into a bass tournament. He also loved deer hunting, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by many. 

Tom is survived by his two daughters, Michelle (Jerry) Lawson of Florence, Ky. and Holly Kennon of New Richmond; nine grandchildren, Jerry Lawson III, Brandon Lawson, Sierrah Kennon, Zoee Ratliff, Khloee Ratliff, Zander Ratliff, Zayden Ratliff, Zaylynn Ratliff and Hazel Kennon; and many siblings and friends. 

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kennon, on Oct. 23, 2014. 

Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 19, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow visitation Monday, Feb. 19 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery in Fayetteville.
