Thomas Roy 'Tom' Goins

Thomas Roy “Tom” Goins, 81, of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati. 

He was born July 31, 1942 in Cincinnati, the son of the late Joel and Ardel (Reynolds) Goins. 

Tom was a graduate of Whiteoak High School, and following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After serving his duty in the United States Army, he worked for many years at General Motors and retired in 1998. He was a member of the American Legion Post #633 in Seaman and a member of the NRA. Tom loved his dogs, guns, food and spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor that his family will cherish forever. 

Tom is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice Sue Tabor Goins, whom he married June 5, 1965; two children, Ericka Lynn (Keith) Scott of Hillsboro and Anna Marie (Jayson) Waits of Hillsboro; 11 grandchildren, Mayson (Heavin) Waits, Hannah Bauer, Kristen (Mason) Burchett, Kalie Scott, Sydney (Charlie Sparks) Waits, Makenzie (Daniel Newberry) Scott, Leah Bauer, Daniel Bauer, Haiden Scott, Klayton Waits and Keira Scott; seven great-grandchildren, Parker, Westin, Kayson, Paisley, Adalynn, Brooklynn and McKena; son-in-law, Thomas Bauer of Dayton; a special niece, Nicole Hamilton and her children, Robert and Jayden; bonus children, Jamie, Melissa and Kerri; several siblings; and many more nieces, nephews and friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Christa Lee Bauer. 

Celebration of Tom’s life will be held at later date at the convenience of the family. The Turner & Son Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
