Thomas E. Ferrin Sr.
Thomas E. Ferrin Sr., 82, of Hillsboro, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born May 31, 1942 in Columbus, the son of the late John Henry and Ruth Lucille (Honaker) Ferrin.
On Jan. 16, 1981, he was united into marriage to Irene J. (Queen) Ferrin, who passed away April 9, 2024.
Thomas served in the United States Navy for three years and United States Air Force for 16 years. He was a member of Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church. Tom enjoyed playing pool and softball.
Surviving are his daughter, Shannon (Ronald) Dornbusch of Hillsboro; son, Thomas Ferrin of Pensacola, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Melissa Ferrin; seven grandchildren; Josh (Kari) Ferrin, Cori Dornbusch, Charli Sheree Dornbusch (Jonathen Bussell), Jerrod Dornbusch, Brittany Ferrin, Joey (Shania) Dornbusch and Bruce Ferrin; seven great-grandchildren; four siblings, Richard Lee Ferrin, Michael John Ferrin, Vicki Jo Spitler and Frank Fenton Ferrin; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Josie (Doug) Nunn, Earl (Patty) Queen and Kirk Queen.
In addition to his parents and wife, Thomas was preceded in death by his three sons: Robbie Allen Ferrin, Randolph Leigh Ferrin and Kenneth Ferrin, and sister, Sandra Kaye Eaches.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Hillsboro Freewill Baptist Church, 6360 US 50, Hillsboro 45133 with Rev. Jim Blankenship officiating. The Highland County Honor Guard will accord full military honors.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the services at the church.
