Thelma L. Watson
Thelma L. Watson, 92, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at Zusman Hospice in Columbus.
She was born Nov. 8, 1931 in Bainbridge, the daughter of Emil and Helen (McNeal) Everhart.
Thelma was a 1952 graduate of Bainbridge High School and was a devoted wife and mother.
She retired from the U.S. Shoe Factory in Greenfield at its closing after 39 years of employment.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandy Speakman (Donald Ritter) of Greenfield, Barbara Brownlee (Mark Calhoun) of Washington C.H. and Gina (Glenn) Graham of Grove City; five grandchildren, Mandy (Barry) Jones, Ronald Howland Jr., Kenneth Cottrill, Katie (Andy) Rush and Evan Graham (Ashley Samson); many great- and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Harvey Everhart of Washington C.H.; many nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Norma Jean Everhart of Greenfield, Phyllis Everhart of Washington C.H.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Watson, on March 21, 2014; son-in-law, Steve Speakman; one grandson, Steve Speakman Jr.; three brothers, Dewey (Rosalee) Everhart, DeWight Everhart and Frank Everhart; three sisters, Donna (Merl) Huggins, Norma Jean (Dave) Embree and Judy Henderson; and both parents.
Funeral service will be Thursday, May 2 at noon at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Glenn Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.
