Susan E. Hicks-Ballein, 66, of Wilmington, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025 at Legacy Home of Hillsboro

She was born Oct. 29, 1958 in Middletown, the daughter of  the late Junior Lee and Doris Lee (Thompson) Hicks. 
 
A graduate of Trenton High School, she graduated from Wilmington College with a focus in art education. She had worked as a fraud investigator with Nationwide Insurance and later at the Clinton County Department of Human Services. Sue volunteered at the Wilmington College Performing Arts Department for several years and continued to make and promote art.
  
Surviving are her husband, Melvin Ballein; a son, Dylan Ballein; and a daughter, Emma Ballein.

Memorial celebration of life services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington. The Family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Contributions in Sue's memory may be made to the Wilmington College Performing Arts Department, 1870 Quaker Way, Wilmington, Ohio 45177.
