Sudie P. Ruggles
Sudie P. Ruggles, 89, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 15, 2024 at home with her family by her side.
She was born June 16, 1934 in Fleming County, Ky., the daughter of the late William and Cora Bell (Overly) Planck.
For over 20 years, Mrs. Ruggles was a dedicated volunteer at the Highland District Hospital. She had well over 20,000 volunteer hours from 1999 to 2020.
She is survived by two sons, Roger (Sally) Ruggles of Hillsboro and Wes (Cathy) Ruggles of Midland; seven grandchildren, Angela (Brant) Hensley of Wake Forest, N.C., Amy (Nathan) Brown of Columbus, Amber (Drew) Barreras of Loveland, Sarah (Adan) Jones and family of Cincinnati, Chad Carper of Washington Court House, Scott Carper of Maineville and Brent Carper of Hillsboro; two great-grandchildren, Alyson Brown and Alexia (Sam) Heckman, both of Columbus; and three nieces, Darlene (Hong) Choe, Patricia (John) Johnson and Sharon Story.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Ruggles, on Aug. 15, 1999; and three sisters, Pearl Tribby, Myrtle Tribby and Lou Ellen Story.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 19, 2024 from 10-11 a.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro, where a funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Matt Burns will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fleming County Cemetery in Flemingsburg, Ky.

Sudie had such a big heart for people and animals. She is with Tom, her sisters and Mom, and who could even guess how many dogs. I pray I will see her with all of them when I get to Heaven. I am so sorry for all her family in their temporary loss. But you will be with her again. Praise the Lord for her loving soul.
