Shirley M. Walker

Shirley M. Walker passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024.

She was born Nov. 11, 1935 in Harlan County, Ky.

She was a devoted wife to Richard Walker, sharing a life filled with love and companionship. A beloved member of the House of Deliverance, Shirley's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and her deep-rooted connection with her community. A compassionate soul, she found joy in helping others and was dedicated to serving as a child of God.

Her passion for sewing and her mesmerizing singing voice brought light and beauty into the world. Shirley's love for cats added an extra layer of warmth to her home, where she found solace and companionship.

Shirley's wisdom and kindness touched the lives of many. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Besides her husband, she leaves behind two sons, John (Cindy) Pigg of Mt. Orab and Randy (Susan) Pigg of Kettering; daughters, Sandy (Gerald) McGuire of Hillsboro and Cathy (James) Kosegi of Hillsboro; stepdaughters, Martha Zimmer of Hillsboro and Georgianna (Robert) Farley of Wilmington; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Velia) Teague of Hillsboro, David Teague of Hillsboro and Donnie (Mitzi) Teague of Seaman; sisters, Evelyene Houston of Miamisburg and Eulene Quickle of Hillsboro; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. As her loved ones mourn her loss, they find comfort in the memories and the legacy she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher and Ellen (Goforth) Teague; son, Allen Pigg; two brothers, Charles and Willard Teague; and sister, Gertrude Eldridgi.

Funeral services will be Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. at the Hill Grove Cemetery, 1002 East Central Ave, Miamisburg 45342.

Friends may call Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the Thompson Funeral Home. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing she was cherished by those whose lives she touched.
