Sandra K. "Sandy" Waddell

Sandra K. "Sandy" Waddell, 57, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday Dec. 16, 2023. 

Sandy was born Dec. 13, 1966 in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Emery "Slim" and Mildred Opal (Pollard) Purdom. 

Sandy is survived by her son, Derek (Kristin) Wait of Hillsboro; a daughter, Shiana (Matt) Fugett of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Matthew Fugett, Jr., Lillie Fugett and Cindorella Wait; two special friends, Linda Caplinger and Eddie Ellis; brothers, Kenny (Beverly) Purdom of Hillsboro and Jerry (Cori) Purdom of New Vienna; sisters, Debbie Sellman of Hillsboro, Judy (John) Thery of Hillsboro, Margie (Duane) Lind of Hillsboro and Peggy Purdom of Hillsboro, several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends. 

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kevin Waddell; grandson, Luke Fugett; sister, Geneva Slusher; brothers, Daryl and Ronald Purdom; and special nephew, Freddie Waddell Jr. 

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro. 

Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
