Ryan Christopher Chapman

Ryan Christopher Chapman, 40, of Hillsboro, passed away May 15, 2024 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center after a brief illness. 

He was born Aug. 28, 1983 in Lima, the son of Charles W. Chapman and Trissa Denig Chapman. 

Ryan was a 2002 Hillsboro High School graduate, where he lettered three years in baseball and two years in football, and after high school he went on to graduate from the Ohio Center for Broadcasting. He enjoyed watching and playing all sports, and he was an avid Ohio State University fan. Ryan loved his family, especially his two daughters and grandson. He will be greatly missed. 

Ryan is survived by his two daughters, Alexis “Lexi” B. Chapman and Brooklyn D. Chapman, both of Hillsboro; a grandson, Royal Beckett Chambers; his mother and father, Charles and Trissa Chapman of Hillsboro; paternal grandmother, Sonja Chapman of Cridersville; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends. 

Ryan was preceded in death by his best friend and brother, Cody Allen Chapman, on March 15, 2019; paternal grandfather, Darrel Chapman, in October 2023; and maternal grandparents, Jack Denig in July 1987 and Shirley Denig in January 2017. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 3-7 p.m. at Good News Gathering, 6250 US 62, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133. Celebration of Ryan’s life will be held Friday May 31, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Good News Gathering. Burial will follow services Friday, May 31 in the Ruble Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ryan’s name to the Hillsboro High School Athletic Department, 550 US 62 S, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
