Ruth E. Adams, 90, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe following a brief illness.
 
She was born July 18, 1932 in Greenfield, the daughter of Julius and Edith (DeHass) Roads.
 
She was a 1950 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School. She married William Adams in 1955 and was happily married until his passing in 2002.
 
Ruth was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a lifelong member of the Greenfield First United Methodist Church. She was very active in many church activities and taught Sunday school for over 60 years. Ruth loved to go on walks several times a day, and her favorite hobby among her many interests was knitting. Ruth also loved to travel and enjoyed being around her friends especially the rosebud gang. Ruth was happiest spending time with her family, especially with Bill, John, Tom, Kally, Nick and Jimmy.

She is survived by two sons, John Adams of Columbus and Thomas Adams of Dayton; daughter-in-law, Kally Adams of Dayton; two grandsons, Nicholas Adams of Cincinnati and James Adams of Dayton; and many loving nephews and nieces, including Mary Ellen Mark, Janet Boone, Dale Schmidt, Dana Schmidt, Jim Lyle, Harold Lyle, Cathy Pavlick, Phil Roads and Pam Wise and their spouses and children.  
 
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses, Mary Martha (Eddie) Schmidt, Josephine (Eugene) Lyle, Elizabeth (Eddie) Hull, Carl (Dorothy) Roads and Lloyd Roads; niece, Susan Cooper; nephews, George Hull, Bob Lyle and Mike Roads; and both parents.
 
Funeral service will be Thursday, April 6 at 11 a.m. at the Greenfield First United Methodist Church with Pastor Susan Keeton officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 5 from 5-7 p.m. at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield and Thursday, April 6 from 10-11 a.m. at the Greenfield First United Methodist Church.
